Day One of the happiness project was a success. I managed to get both kids out the door early. We got to the orthodontist on time and the appointment only took 5 minutes. That means I had enough time to take him home to ride the bus rather than having to drive him all the way to school. That also means I had enough time to stop at the oil change place and get my oil topped off so that my car would stop beeping/flashing at me. I didn’t need an oil change for another 3k miles; however, I knew the routine. Apparently my model of car burns through oil quicker than the average. At least that’s what the regular guy at the oil change place told me two months ago. But, alas, the regular guy wasn’t there, and the new guy apparently didn’t get the memo about today being Day One. I’ve got a leaky main rear gasket, folks. I wonder what that will cost me? No. No. No. I don’t wonder that. I asked the new guy a few follow-up questions and took off on my way. I am not going to give up on Day One that easily!
The rest of my day was fairly uneventful. Day One is in the record books. There’s no stopping me now.
